LONDON (AFX) - Motion Media PLC said 2002 has been a tough year but that it
is confident that with its lower cost base and higher revenues it can move
towards profitability.
"2002 has been an extremely challenging year for our industry generally and
for Motion Media specifically but a year in which dramatic, yet positive
advances have been made," said non-executive director Alan MacKenzie, who
chaired an extraordinary general meeting this morning.
The company said it has "reduced significantly its operating costs through
the year", and that "given the reduced cost base, the Directors are confident
that the company will be able to generate a strong revenue stream and move
towards profitability".
Motion Media said all resolutions were passed at the EGM, enabling it to
carry out the share placing and offer announced Nov 29, 2002.
On Sept 26, the company posted a widening in interim losses and said sales
in 2002 will be substantially below current market expectations.
