Hector - the fact that a large number get entered is in a way a result of the fact that so many think they know a stock that is undervalued. But the fact that people have to enter details as to why a stock might double helps to filter the 'brain-dead' from the thread, those that don't know what the features are that might make a stock double.
With them out of the way whe then have a list of stocks where you can quickly gauge what the thinking is behind someone's suggestions. Those that provide high, concise reasoning are much more likely to attract interest imo.
Finally 'the proof is in the pudding'. I listed a number of successful posters last year at the end of the 2005 thread. I know the posters that I think posted good suggestions last year and they have a higher star rating than those that failed on my form book. This year we have a chart to help sort the men from the boys. As I said before, you live by the sword and die by the sword, pick 5 dogs and you're hardly going to be regarded as a good stockpicker.
Hence while it's a less than perfect system, the chart here, over the course of the year will eventually sift the smarts from the farts. Anyone that ignorantly blind ramps a stock with little research and just hope should soon get found out by the chart imo, or at least most will.
