The difference between the short seller who is the market maker and the short seller who is a punter is radically different. The MM knows if he will reverse his tact and is using it purely to scare out the punters - supply and demand are artifically ignored for the time being - stop losses are gunned - this in my opinion is unethical - its like insider trading because they know why they are doing it, they have planned it, and there is but one purpose for it.
So the MM's continue to take the piss...especially on AIM where there is even less scrutiny. Me ..I now have but one AIM stock - the rest are FTSE 100 etc - because the MM's on AIM can at best be unpredictable and at worst there seems to exist the opportunity to be unscrupulous and unethical.
Short selling I have no problem with - but the practice as purportedly carried out byt his MOB is outrageous and does no favours to market makers, the financial industry or to the punter who could well turn his back on the market - again.
I mean with MM's who act in ways being talked about you may as well bet on the 2-30 at Kempton.
Anyway the list is interesting, and I for one will use it as a filter in the future.
