There are many 'Patent Infringement' cases where damages were awarded, but this was a 'Patent Entitlement' case, nobody infringed the patent, and that is where the big damages are awarded, because 'the company should know better than to infringe someone elses patent', because this was about 'who owned' the patent, damages are based only on loss and gain.
What is interesting is this bit from an attorney's website ....
"A common defence is that prior art rather than the patent is used and hence the patent is unenforceable by the patent owner"
And that will kill PF1 for sure !!!!
