You do not need Fibre to do VOIP/WWW, its all IP packets,
Priotizing/QOS, thats all

I have made (adsl) software call from laptop over broadband(internet) in to our corperate PBX backout to mobile, acceptable reponse/quality (this included VPN/Encryption)
Do you see what i mean,

Fibre is CORE NETWORKS (internet), In the UK, i do not see it happenning for atleast ??? yrs , unless end users APPS change

Here is a question,
IF fibre is the future which it is, where needed,
Are BT laying it to indiviual houses now ?
Why not lay it now, be ready, instead of rediging the roads up again later ?
Of course you could say, the END user will pay again, but would he ?

Here is a test for you, start MSMeeting, login in to MSCHAT room and use a microphone/speakers to make voice call, you,ll be suprised how good it is, then you,ll see why i,m saying why is fibre needed at 256/512
