Q: Streaming or Downloading: what's the difference?
A:
Streaming
Streaming a film offers a near on-demand experience. There will be a little bit of "buffering" and then the movie begins playing.
Movies are offered in three "bit-rates"; 100k, 300k and 700k. The bit rate you select should be based on the type of Internet connection you have.
The quality of picture will greatly depend on the speed of your Internet connection.
The film does not take up any space on your computer's drives.
Downloading
To download a feature length film, it will take anywhere from 1-4 hours with even the fastest Internet connection and without any interruptions in your connection. With CinemaNow's new "See it in Seconds" technology, you can start watching the film in as little as 30 seconds while it is downloading. How soon you can start playing the film will depend on the speed of your connection
You are downloading a 700k version of the film. Once you start playing a downloaded version of the film, the picture quality will be very high and there will be no interruptions by a poor Internet connection.
You will need enough drive space to store about a 550MB file. A feature film is a very large file and if you do not have enough drive space you will not be able to watch the film.
