Robert Reiser & Co., Canton, Massachusetts, has announced the completion of its acquisition of Germany-based Vemag Maschinenbau GmbH, a world leader in the manufacturing and sales of continuous vacuum stuffers.
Vemag President Eckehard Krüger, said: “This union brings together two companies with common philosophies and a common focus on customer service. It also ensures the best possible distribution of our products in those countries now served by Reiser companies.”
Roger Reiser, president of Robert Reiser & Co., said: “After a 43-year partnership this acquisition ensures the supply of our most important product and will enable us to better coordinate both research and development and application development efforts.”
With a combined commitment to product development, the two companies will focus primarily on two areas: New equipment for automatic handling of linking, cutting and hanging of natural casing sausage and in-line grinding and meat separating systems.
Reiser will remain headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts with sales offices in the United Kingdom and Canada. Vemag will continue to operate from its plant in Verden, Germany. No changes will be made in either management or operating policy. The Reiser companies, including Vemag, American Food Equipment Company and Ross Industries now employ more than 600 people and serve customers in more than 70 countries.
