GBLewis - I don't think the t/over can conceivably have gone up on last year, and losses must be greater. Please can you explain your reasoning.
Daw2 - it's all very well buying into the future, & I fully understand the concept, but you've got to have a future to invest in. There is absolutely no guarantee at all for seo or its products.
Yachty - I think its fair to say that the bio-degradable packaging is one of the great hopes for seo. If their technology is rejected, that would be a major blow. I don't think theres any real mileage in the ciggie filter - Companies who wilfully kill their customers are unlikely to worry about the environment too much. Smokers don't change brands (I know), other ciggies taste awful, so theres no environmental marketing advantage except with new smokers. The business is cut throat & filter suppliers are well entrenched & will cut costs to keep the business. I don't see filter manufacturers paying seo huge sums of money to buy a product to replace their existing product with, when neither the smoker nor the ciggie manufacturer are interested in it. In the end price will win, & the huge filter suppliers will trounce minnow seo without even straining themselves.
Don't see any real potential for frogpack or petal pack (for obvious reasons), & then theres the court case - who knows how that will effect seo's business.
They may end up just having to go back to RF products, like GS if it works suitably & if they can actually get the conversions done, but since they seem to be ditching the majority of their RF work it doesn't look promising.
There's not much of a future if your business is in aquiring & licensing IP & no-one wants your IP.
