Midlands-based recruitment firm Staffline has said it is on track to transfer the bulk of its business away from traditional manufacturing and into the food production industry.
Managing director Andy Hogarth said he hoped to food production would constitute 75 per cent of the company's business by the end of 2005.
His comments came as the AIM-listed firm revealed a 40 per cent rise in pre-tax profits in the first half to the end of June to £694,000 on turnover up 19 per cent to £26.4 million.
The company also announced that it had appointed Carole Harvey as finance director and company secretary.
Mr Hogarth said the group had made strong progress during the first half of the year and planned to strengthen business by moving out of cyclical, seasonal sectors and concentrating on food production.
