Head of world's largest lottery company resigns
The chairman of the world's largest lottery company, G-Tech, Guy Snowden has resigned after losing a libel case in Britain in which he was accused of trying to bribe a rival.
Mr Snowden had lost the case to the British entrepreneur Richard Branson.
Mr Branson accused Mr Snowden of trying to persuade him to withdraw from a bid for the British national lottery in 1993.
G-Tech and Mr Snowden had an interest in the company which won the bid, Camelot.
A spokesman for G-Tech -- which has interests in lotteries in about fifty countries -- said Mr Snowden, had decided to step down as chairman to avoid damage to the company.
In a related development, the regulator of the national lottery in Britain, Peter Davis, has also resigned.
