1/ no SBT in SOuthern Africa but BetFair is pushing hard in to SOuth Africa and the PRTY adverts I have mentioned
2/ THanks for your experienced insight.Notwithstnding I have opened a comparatively small short on WMH. I think that the nature of the game has changed for the big bookies over the past few months:
a/ margins are being squeezed by Betfair on the horses and by
speciality operators re sports betting particularly football
b/ The UK bookies have no advantage re worldwide branding ( Ladbrokes
possibly more than Paddy Power and WMH ) so no name recognition
advantage as in the UK re global audience
c/ seem behind the leading pack in poker offerings
d/ as I mentioned on the PRTY page I noticed the last 3 / 4 times I
wandered in to a bookies just before Xmas that no-one was playing
the fixed odds gaming machines/ vitual casinos ( 2 Ladbrokes shops )
and I wonder if the growth from these has peaked
All IMO and I could be very wrong,and contray view welcomed
