Explanation? ....some people just keen to get stuff done [though you'll note very little volume or agreement on price]. Also entirely possible that some wish to manipulate the year-end price [for portfolio valuation purposes or whatever].

Re share price expectations - they haven't changed at all. Timing was always a tough call.....but I can't see the present discount to NAV persisting for long in 2007.....the end-game is getting too close [and the cashflow from 2008 production will start appearing in broker forecasts].

Apart from slightly regretting not selling some at 1550 or so in late April [which would have required a better crystal ball than I possess, though I did have a small unfilled sell order in at about that level on 9th May] and buying them back at sub 1100 in late May , I don't think I'd have done anything differently in 2006. My last post-results buy at 1014p looks pretty solid still....and I'm expecting a similar rally to accompany the results this year [based on earnings for 2006, forecasts for 2008 and reserves upgrades].

And one can't complain for the year as a whole.....just look at the peer group comparison: ....even if bid speculation elsewhere has made the last 6 months look a bit sluggish by comparison [which, of course, is a matter which is unconnected with the success of the underlying business (except to the extent that underperforming managements seem to have been the ones to attract the early bid interest)]
