Sheffield United....Blade Runner?
Johne1 - Sun, 17 Dec 06 :
I just thought that I would bring Eggbirds list of predictions back for a quick recap.
Johne1 10th 51 points
Ivorytowers 12th 50 points
s66blade 14th 45 points
eggbird 15th 41 points
Mach10 21st!!!?? 27 points
Awaysbanking 22nd!!!?? 27 points
20 matches to be played, I think. Winning 50% of those, (which is not impossible), would put us on 50 points. Therefore, I would suggest that prospects for being mid table are quite possible.
Bearing in mind the rough start to the season, my sentiments are quite upbeat and I am far more confident now.
Does anyone else have an opinion?
The share price movements may become interesting also.
The trip to Wigan was interesting and I would say that the entertainment was OK for most travelling supporters/fans. A win is a win is a win - as they say. Having watched the highlights on MOTD, I would say that it did not do justice for the whole event. Blades were in good voice. The goal was at the opposite end of the pitch to the Blades supporters and so we did not have a great view. However, the timing was perfect and we went into half time in good spirits. A great strike by Gillespie, with a follow up by Webber was the best part of the second half for me. That was in good view to the fans. Pressure built up by Wigan, towards the end of the match, had us checking watches regularly and biting our nails through the 5 long minutes of injury time.
I was surprised at the size of the JJB stadium. Only just over 25,000 capacity and there were loads of vacant seats in the home supporters stands. That obviously encouraged us to sing "worst support" words to the home supporters.
