LONDON (AFX) - Kuju PLC, an interactive games software developer, said its pretax losses widened in the six months to end September after the loss of one title and the disposal of the loss-making Kuju Wireless Publishing division.
Pretax losses grew to 517,873 stg from 174,102 stg in the year-earlier period.
The company previously warned that the loss of the 'George A Romero presents City of the Dead' title caused by HIP Interactive ceasing to trade in July would impact negatively. The loss of the title cost Kuju 308,000 stg, it said today, adding that it continues to seek alternative publishers to develop the title.
Group sales rose to 4.25 mln stg from 3.14 mln but the cost of sales also jumped to 4.16 mln stg from 2.80 mln.
'In general we believe that market conditions and opportunities for the group's PC & console studios are continuing to improve however our view of the market remains cautious and completing deals can still take time,' said chairman Dominic Wheatley.
