Mercury Group cuts FY loss as business pipeline strong, prospects encouraging
LONDON (AFX) - Mercury Group PLC cut its pretax loss in the year to end-Sept
to 431,187 stg from a loss of 916,827 a year earlier after acquisitions lifted
turnover to 3.9 mln stg from 247,000 stg.
The group, which provides support services to real estate agents, said its
business pipeline is strong and prospects are encouraging.
It also reported an operating profit before goodwill amortisation and
exceptional items for the year under review of 100,000 stg, up from a loss of
574,000 stg.
Chairman David J Williams said the group's ongoing aim is to build all three
subsidiaries acquired over the past year and the board sees opportunities to
enhance growth by developing its 'one-stop shop' approach and exploiting the
natural synergies that exist in the businesses.
He also said the board is actively considering further acquisitions.
