Right, that bit of research is done, and I'm afraid it wasn't exactly enlightening...
Basically, 1 BOE (barrel oil equivalent) is equivalent to 6000 cubic feet of natural gas. But NOT in terms of value - it's an equivalent amount of energy. So if you want comparative value, you'd have to find the cost of 6000cuft of gas at current (local - it varies a lot!) market price, and compare it to the cost of a barrel of oil.
I think at least LNG is taken into account when working out the BOE figures, otherwise it would be a real nightmare!
