The "Hotel Report" (Vol4 Issue 10, 10 December 2001)states that:
"budget hotel chains emerge as the real winners of the worldwide downturn";
"Premier Lodge's operations director Richard Edwards said that revpar for the year was up 10% and like for like occupancy was ahead by 5%. There had been no impact on revpar from September 11";
"with the exception of its Gatwick hotel, Premier Lodge had not felt the effects of any crisis in its business. Richard Evans said the expanding UK-based group still expected to see a 15% growth in business year on year."
"...major investment project that would see all rooms renovated by 2003".
"The future for Premier Lodge was positive, with opportunities of international awareness via the internet, franchising possibilities in Europe and a domestic market still relatively untapped".
At least one area of SCTN should be growing strongly!
