Thanks for that . I appreciate what you say about delays in the manufacturing happening because of suppliers ,my scepticism is I suppose based on what I have read and then seen happen so often before- ie management blaming someone else and then worse news arrriving later.
Will try to give them the benefit of the doubt but have to admit that would be easier if they were more forthcoming with information-my view here is that individual shareholders are too easily fobbed off with minimum detail when as part owners of the business they have a right to know what exactly the problems are . Given the size of the impact the delay is likely to have is it reasonable to give a 5 sentence explanation- I think not . As I said if it was a private company you owned and those you had employed to run it for you gave you a similar answer in reply to a request from your for an explanation of what the problem was would you accept such a response of course you wouldn't . It's a bit like one of the family telling you they crashed the family car and it might be off the road for a few months and then refusing to tell you waht happened or let you see the extent of the damage . ? Why do shareholders in public companies meakly accept the crumbs of information thrown their way ownership means risk so investors should expect things to go wrong from time to time but they have a right to be kept informed when mishaps occur
It seems to me that if Sarantel want support from shareholders they need to make an attempt to communicate at a level which is respectful and
their brokers and PR company should be pointing this out to them
- there might come a time when they will need further support and how share holders have been treated in the lead up to that is important.
Typo I think in your mushroom figures but I take your point and the subsequent ones made .
I think I will wait to see what the VCTs do re their shareholdings I might miss the bottom but I have a feeling there will be some forced sales so on balance I think I might get in a bit lower over the next few weeks . I just can't see how the VCT in question can go back to shareholdersa and say ... "we held it all the way down from over 100p to around 20p and didn't reduce our exposure"
They might get away with that if the holding represented say 3-4% of the Trust but at 20%+ they could be in really hot water if they just sit frozen in the car headlights.
