I have read your recent exchange with Anom and would invite you to answer this question:
Can you please give us your opinion as to the likely outcome if a poll were conducted at PaulyPilots Pub and/or other frequently used boards at TMF, on the polling facility at iii or on this board (if there is a poll facility) along the following lines? (What approximately do you think the answer would be?)
---------POLL:
A company with 120 Million shares has serious debt and is close to insolvency.
A debt for equity swap is announced with X Million new shares to be issued.
3 days before the EGM at which this equity issue is to be approved by shareholders the Market Makers sell shares short expecting to cover their short positions out of the new equity when approved and issued.
This action is not contrary to any law or to any explicit LSE trading rules.
Nevertheless as a regular user of the equities markets who has traded more than 20 times in the last two years do you
A. Consider the action acceptable and not in any way a market abuse.
B. Consider the sale of any such shares would be a market abuse.
C. Consider sales in excess of 10% of the market cap would be a market abuse
D. Consider sales in excess of 30% of the market cap would be a market abuse
E. Not a regular user of the stock market or dont know.
---------END OF POLL
If you care to tell us which item you would tick please do so.
If you have no idea what the result would be perhaps it should be put to the test?
When we have the answer I will explain why I ask and why I believe it is relevant if you dont already know.
PS Can someone please point me to the place where I find out how to make bold, italic or Fontsize changes in these messages.
