I had exactly this problem a couple of years ago.

You could try not logging on as anyone when the laptop boots. When you get the login screen press 'escape' and the PC should still boot (depending on the password software they have. If it's only for PC protection it won't boot, if the login is for windows i.e. a network login it will).

When I had this problem I had to obtain the administrator password. If you work for a larger organisation they won't let you install anything because of the potential virus threat.

Alternatively you could try some password hacking software (just do a search on google), but I'm sure you're aware that the company that you work for wouldn't appreciate you doing this.
