Airbus to deliver 78 aircraft to China in 2006, up 20 pct yr-on-yr
BEIJING (AFX) - Airbus Industrie said it will deliver 78 aircraft to Chinese
carriers in 2006, up 20 pct from 2005.
The company said in a statement that the jets to be delivered will account
for one fifth of its total global deliveries.
Airbus is expected to deliver 370 planes worldwide this year, one sixth of
which were ordered by Chinese carriers, the company said.
It said that it will also conduct feasibility studies on building assembly
lines in China for single-aisle planes, in partnership with the National
Development and Reform Commission, the country's lead economic planning body.
Earlier this month, China signed a preliminary deal to buy 150 Airbus A320s
for nearly 10 bln usd.

China Eastern signs 1.84 bln yuan deal for 4 Boeing aircraft - UPDATE

BEIJING (AFX) - China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd (SHA 600115; HK 0670; NYSE
CEA) said it has purchased four Boeing B737 NG aircraft for a total price of
1.84 bln yuan.
The deal with Boeing was signed yesterday and includes the engines for the
aircraft, China Eastern said. The engine supplier was not identified.
China Eastern said that it will pay for the aircraft in cash.
The aircraft will be delivered between August 2007 and October 2008, the
statement added.
China Eastern added that its asset-liability ratio will rise for the short
term due to the purchase.
China signed an agreement to buy 70 Boeing 737-700/800 aircraft with a
catalog price of about 4 bln usd in November during talks by US President George
W Bush and Chinese President Hu Jintao in Beijing.
The official Xinhua news agency said later in November that China would sign
another agreement with Boeing for the purchase of 80 more 737 jets.
