As I have understood it from the research note for t1ps.com the alluvial exploration at Melgueira is being wound down as they focus more on hard rock deposits. To quote this (posted by Smiley Miley on 7/10/05):

"The increasing losses were caused by an increase in administrative expenses associated with the move to AIM from Ofex and as processing capacity was increased at its alluvial Melgueira project, but the company is shifting away from this project."

Hopefully it will not be too long before we hear some news on drilling operations in SL. Some good bulk sampling results here will lift all of our spirits I'm sure!
