i have heard simon cawkwell on many occasions over the years,i have even read his guide to shorting. if the poster is an imposter he is a bloody good one.
i also believe hes genuine because to date i havent seen a poster called tom winnifrith.
i should imagine that this site would only allow a "nickname" purporting to be a "name" in financial circles if it was 100% genuine.

also,
wrt to efficiency of solar cells, what does it matter how the figure is derived as long as its accurate and is not intended to mislead.
anyone with any amount of further education appreciates that the efficiency of anything from a car to a lightbulb can only be at a maximum under certain conditions. eg its no use to me to know im getting max efficiency from my car if its doing 10mph at 4000rpm.
