the whole point of my post is to say that the UK are NOT the only country with research programs of a level sophisticated enough to already have a BSE test. I feel people vastly underestimate the competition from North America.

FSE is bold and expansive on skimpy research. GeneThera's CEO has publicly stated that the test is based on research out of Scotland.
It's a PCR test, so could be quite complex and expensive (indeed in the same public forum the CEO said the CWD test would cost $65) and it looks as if the validation so far consists of 4 CWD positives detected correctly out of 141 samples. No mention of false negatives or positives. I don't believe the Company has claimed any validation of the BSE test.
It looks like a thoroughly shameless attempt to hitch its nascent test technology onto the frenzy bandwagon, in my opinion.
