At the risk of appearing self-justifying a few words in my defence. With BII the investors(private and institutional), the analysts and most importantly the company all believed the drug stent story. Unfortunately, the final clinical data didn't back up the pre-clinical theoretical promise. The Nomura analyst paid for his mistake with his job and the Soloman Smith Barney analyst was wounded and pulled out in ignomy. As for me, I paid in the wallet. I watched the stock fall from £12 and did a buy and hold from 60p to £6 back to 60p with top-ups up and down was not a smart investment decision. I went up with the tide and sank with the ship.
I just wonder if I see history repeating itself. But, investors here seem supremely confident they are smarter than everyone else and have all the angles covered. Just remember to sell at the top - wherever that is.
