I am not sure that we should take two points in the BioWorld article [for which thanks Steve] too seriously.
The first is deducing that the CJD tests will be with BioSite. I suspect this was a telephone interview and that the journalist said "Mr Pearce - would BioSite be a good partner for the CJD test?" - to which it would be difficult to answer anything but "yes". In particular I cannot see BioSite's point of care systems being appropriate for screening blood
The second, more complex, is that the current BioSite agreement covers ischaemic and heamorrhagic differentation. I think that could have crept in by a similar telephone interviewing technique. I think there probably WILL be such an agreement in due course - I hope so as it would save many lives and disabilities, as well as being highly profitable - its just that I rather doubt if it has actually been made yet.
