Petrel Resources - moderated discussion/research part II
YesMaine - Thu, 21 Dec 06 :
Up just a little bit: I've done as much research as I can without actually attending an AGM (seeing as there hasn't been one since I invested a relatively small amount of money (£8,000)). It's not a huge loss to me if the company goes skint to be frank. However, I invested here for a reason. I wanted to get involved in a small oil stock in the middle east due to oil prices and I wanted to give an AIM listed company a go to add to my large cap portfolio (Samsung, Google, YouTube, Microsoft etc all of which speak for themselves). I have never got involved deeply into shares to be honest. I just picked a company, got in contact with a broker through a close friend of mine and placed the trades. Pretty simple really. This really is the only company I've ever signed up to a message board on and actually look at seriously intraday.
I think Petrel will come off long-term. The first thing I saw from Petrel Resources was Horgan's interview @ the OPEC meeting 2-3 months back when I was on the OPEC website, looking at where oil was heading - basically what the big deal was.
Probably a lot more naive than you, I don't doubt that. I've been here 2 minutes compared to you. Still, I have my opinions and I think most are valid. I laugh when people making anything slightly negative and they get ripped apart. It's probably not a great idea to be on here whilst invested in this company as some of things the 'seasoned investors' say with such a confident/putting down swagger makes me angry. Typical keyboard warriors.
So, if I ask a question on here regarding the company/situation, why can't it be answered sensibly? Why does it turn into a slagging match, or someone getting on their high horse?
