Korean company threatens to sue Kyrgyzstan on more than 50 million euros
- On December 28, 2005, on press conference in Bishkek, public representative of Korean company “Venture C&C Plaza Co. Ltd”, which won the tender on making passports, Bakyt Kerimbekov stated the intention of the company to sue Kyrgyz government in international courts if the problem will not be solved.

According to B. Kerimbekov, the sum of suit should be examined by international experts and can make more than 50 million euros.

As B. Kerimbekov stated, if legal procedure will start, then till international courts take a decision, both “Venture C&C Plaza Co. Ltd” and Moldavian “Registru” will not be able to make passports, and it is when legal procedure can take from one to three years.

Also according to B. Kerimbekov, all complaints of National Agency on information resources, technology and communication (NAIRTC) to the Korean company do not have any basis, because equipment arrived on time, passport samples were brought in November and in December Kyrgyz citizens had chances to get their new passports.

As B. Kerimbekov stated, the problem of tie-up of passport making occurred because NAIRTC confirmed the design of passports with mistakes (grammatical), and corrected design “Venture C&C Plaza Co. Ltd” got only on December 6, 2005. Company corrected mistakes and blanks of passports are in Korea.
