Newsman, I suggest the small size and unusual numbers indicate they may be holdings arising from the 1 for 5 Rights Issue at 15p in March 1999 (no purchase commission or stamp duty).
Thus, for example, 120 shares purchased @ 15p cost £18
120 shares sold @ 30.88p gives £37.05 minus £10 commission = £27.05, i.e. a profit of £9.05 (£37.05 - £18 - £10).
(or a profit of £3.97 if purchasing and selling 88 shares under the same assumptions).
