As an occasional contributor, I find myself nonplussed by the current wind of scepticism. Or skepticism, according to taste.
OXB unquestionably had an outstanding year in 2006. Everything it has published to date has been good or better. Lentivector increasingly looks like application of choice for genetic engineering and Trovax is progressing in Phase 3 trials. Nothing has failed or collapsed due to serious side effects. The company is in talks with several major pharmas and a deal of some kind is a racing certainty (PS. whether the ££ on the table is as vast as anticipated remains to be seen).
So what were people expecting? Instant deals and 100% cure rates for every cancer? Only shorting, lack of realism or gross impatience after buying in at inflated levels could explain the negativity. The real world ain't that way and the disappointment is unjustified.
Patience is necessary with most stocks but even at that, the share price has appreciated nicely. Holders have no reason to whinge and gripe.
