$50m upfront ?
Isn't it more likely that they will get all remaining Phase III, product registration and marketing costs for Trovax paid by the licensee (which all told will be considerable - $50m + ??), royalties on product sales that may be quite high for the industry norm and an upfront payment that will be quite small ($20m would be pushing it). The risk-reward is tilted more to the risk side with Trovax, licensees will have had no say whatsoever in product development having joined in at Phase III and so they are more or less taking a VC-style portfolio bet on Trovax. They will want to keep the actual pennies disbursed to a minimum.
This might in fact be why we still do not have a deal - OXB still holding out for a larger upfront payment which is not forthcoming.
I hope I am wrong and that we get $50m upfront as you say.
