Helen Troy,
Get over it! I would really love to see your reaction now, if we were sitting here with VIP launched and no sales because PCR is the preferred test for STDs, the last placing would have raised money just to throw down the e-nose drain as before. You obviously would be lauding the management for sticking their head in the sand and ignoring the situation because they continued your e-nose dream.
I and most others here applaud the management for being as flexible as they have been, we will soon have two new platforms in the DNA/RNA testing arena, both showing cost advantages and POC benefits which should make them very attractive to the market. We have a far greater catalogue of tests in the pipeline, including STDs (which after all was VIP's target market), but now with other infectious diseases, pharmacogenomics and genetics tests. Get a perspective on it, these products CF and CYP450 sell at $400 and $600 a test with margins of 75-85%, the STD market is large but with a lot more competition, so to have these capabilities (CF and CYP450) as well as STD testing is a huge coup.
If your narrow mindedness is clouding the view then sell-out and enjoy the soaring success of Superscape and Pace Micro they seem to be delivering great shareholder value at the moment, aren't they????
Trout.
