ONE BAGGERS OR MORE FOR 2004?
warranty - Fri, 02 Jan 04 :
CR, cracking good thread and some very good tips which I'll explore. You say you're personally looking for relatively "safe" stocks which could double this year.
Take a look at MLS which has already risen from 18p to 52.5p in the last year. You could argue that some of the potential is already in the price and of course you would be right. Primarily into Cancer screening this is only the tip of a growing iceberg of potential. You could also be put off by a PE over 35 but it only highlights the massive potential of the contracts about to be announced by the NHS, of which MLS should expect at least 50%. They are also a major supplier of research material to all the leading bio groups, recently announcing a large deal with AZ. With the need to develop new drugs to offset the generics this area is growing in importance and MLS is now one of the worlds largest suppliers of these materials. There should be many more similar contracts in the pipeline soon.
There is a very well researched thread highlighting some of the other many areas in which MLS are involved, but if you're looking for a company on the verge of serious growth, with experienced, respected management, well funded and in the right sector just now at least take a detailed look at this one.
A question of patience about to be rewarded with this and ISA'able too.
Bought into CKSN at 34p recently and also looks like a flier this year.
Good luck anyway to all whatever you choose. Threads like this are a big help to us all, especially me who gets less time than most posters for research.
As a wild card, look at TBG, I'm in the industry and this price looks rather silly just now. I don't anticipate it anywhere near doubling, but 50% looks certain at some stage in the year. Look to Deutse Post to snaffle it if it goes any lower as well.
