Thanks TP and Janus62,
I have since spoken to Vijay Chandru's family and was told he has been admitted to another hospital, not MS Ramaiah. He suffered 3 bullet wounds to his shoulder, elbow and thru his chest, missing the heart but severing some major blood vessels and was operated on for 6 hours. I was told that he is "stable" - but being a medic myself, I know it is too early to prognosticate.
Really hope that he makes it - a thorough gentleman, a brilliant scientist and a good friend. Many thanks for your support. Media reports in India point this to be another face of terrorism, that we all so despise and feel helpless about in many ways. Bangalore being a software capital is a prime economic target.
Thanks once again for your support.
