tonsil - had a look in PC world & currys today; the Advent(?) 2.1 PC satalites were priced at 29.99 ad they had a set plugged into one of the laptops in PC World. Sound was pretty crap but no worse than anything else you could pick up for 30 quid. Having said that, I made sure I left them blaring out the demo soundtrack and the couple behind me seem pretty impressed with the flat panels.
Currys had the KEF KIT100 for 899.99 which sounded great although they only had it hooked up as a CD player rather than DVD. The TEAC was there too but I couldn't find the Hitachi BMR system. When I asked one of the staff, he led me to this big space on the shelf with a little price tag for 200 quid. He said they had sold out, including the display model and was a little confused when I turned to my other half and said "that's good news"
Both PC World and Currys also had the Hitachi DAB radio and in total there were 6 NXT enabled products on display, not counting MP3/CD cases.
