NXT: One of the big potential risers of 2006? 3M & others could make it happen

HW thanks for link on Toyota and the 63% saving. Maybe be a rose tinted view but it may be, that implicit in what they said, is that in many cases only headliner speakers are needed for good sound. If that is a reasoanble view (*) then others will conclude the same. Weight saving of audio equiment although not huge is still real and even a couple of kilos needs fuel to move. Also I guess if only headliner then installation and wiring is eased so potentailly manufacturing costs reduced. As TESCO claimes every little helps.

*Presumably they have had carried out some sort of human factor sound qualtity test plus market feedback on current production vehicles (although those have other speakers as well of course).
