If there was info then it would be illegal for IG to know and not anyone else. It would be a first if they closed the market because it was too tasty for Joe Average. And it is really because someone wants their lent out stock back.

Just as well that you don't have to hold the underlying equity in order to trade- a leveraged instrument would be fine, such as an option perhaps? Easily arranged and underwritten by a merchant bank in a liquid market such as this.
