With referance to the granting of such a wide spread Patent to NXT in America today I think it may be worth pointing out the following:
1,Any company that use's this tech already(but never aknowledged it belonged to NXT) will now either have to start paying royalty's or risk loseing £millions in costs.
2,The Patent was applied for in March 2005 and granted today so now has 25 years or so to run from this point in the USA!!
3,Due to NXT being one of the very few comps to continue through thick and thin on this type of IP many original "prior art" workings had long since expired and we appear to be gaining an ever tighter stranglehold on the tech around the world.
What was it £60m in tax loses to put against future profits, 2 years cash left and 25years of Patent protections in the USA alone? hmmm.Nice.
So much to look forward too starting at CES next week.
