Good evening everyone.
Total gain for 2006 has come in at a very pleasing 28.4%
Takeover fever took hold of my portfolio this year, plus the few AIM shares that I hold, and have held for a long time, are beginning to come good. I still traded too much in the first 6 months, and took the rash decision to sell out of some shares, when the Market had its 'wobble' in May, which with hindsight, was the wrong thing to do. Biggest disappointment has been the Megacaps, such as the Major Banks and Oils, but as Aleman mentioned earlier, I feel that 2007 will be a tougher year for the Stock Market, and cash invested in some of the UK's biggest companies could be a wise investment for 2007.
I should add that my total for 2007 does include dividends, which I re-invest.
There is no way I see next year being as good and would be quite content to settle for a gain of around 10% next year.
Good luck to everyone in 2007, and I sincerely hope it brings not only wealth, but more importantly Good Health.
