Northern Foods - a Tasty Choice!
wilkie_hk - Fri, 29 Dec 06 :
Aternoon all.
Right, first things first, I had better kick off by posting my closing gain for 2006. From being 10% down in the late summer I have had a very fortuitous run which has left me 24.9% up for the year.
I managed to get fully in to HMV today at 141.6p average and am hopeful that this stock will recover to settle at an average price of 75% of what Permira offered for it 9.5 months ago. ie 75% of 210p = 157.5p. I would then hope for the price to dip and rise about this mean by 5% or so to give me the opportunity to sell out at 165p + divi.
wrt NFDS, IMHO there is presently positive sentiment surrounding it, which I am hopeful can push the price up to 130p, at which point I think I would sell in the absence of any positive news that will enhance profits beyond present estimates. I believe a fair price is pretty much where we are now (115p), and will rely on the herd instinct to continue the present upward trend to create the selling opportunity.
On the injury front. You sound like you've been on the same pitch as a certain Mr Windass, Aleman! I also seem to have extremely resilient ankles and 'go over' on them all the time when I am running, but my fibres in that area appear indestructable so I have never suffered a structural ankle injury, just bruising from being given a direct kick. The knee is a different matter, with my legs being far from perfectly aligned, resulting in a lot of stress at the knee when running a lot of miles. I've got away with it for the last 3 years, but will now probably have to revert to wearing orthotics (precision made shoe inserts) for a while.
Anyway, all the best for the New Year to everyone that posts on here and may all the good humour, good nature, kind consideration and warmth continue during the next year and beyond.
