Good morning all. Market up sharply today but I do not know why. Even NFDS joining the party. US was up a bit but was only making up the Friday loss we did not have. It's probably fund managers here getting irrationally exuberant after getting their bonuses and wasting your pension money on unnecessary trading which will be reversed when markets return to normal in the new year. (I'm allowed to be cynical as we are still in the old year - no promises for the new one though!)

wilkie - better result yesterday for the Cherries. Are they improving at all? We have had an odd decent result but are still playing abysmally. I don't know how Todd is hanging on to his job. Although there are financial issues being raised, the team has got worse month by month for a few years which cannot be allowed to continue. I take it you will wish us luck at home to Cheltenham on Saturday.
As for Deal or No Deal, it may be easier to consider if you imagine 19 boxes with nothing in and one with £500k (or whatever the total is). The average might be £25k at the start, but if they offer that, many would take it and the show would be rather dull, hence the offer that is probably always on the low side to push contestants on.
