I just found this interesting article published in Business Weekly 22Feb'01 highlighting the activities of Team Consulting in Cambridge ..... were we aware of this?

Team emphasises the need to involve users in medical device development and quotes development of the Zero-Stik® Safety Syringe - a hypodermic syringe which offers protection against needlestick injury - for major medical devices company, New Medical Technology Ltd.

Needlestick injuries from hypodermic syringes are a possible transmission route for many potentially dangerous blood-borne diseases and healthcare workers are at particular risk.

The syringe features a patented retraction system to enable the needle to retract automatically into the plunger once the drug is delivered, significantly reducing that risk.

Team designed the high volume product from concept stage to pilot manufacture including all the design, risk analysis, validation and proving of single cavity tools and the product is now being successfully marketed across the US and Europe.
