Petmin Limited, previously Petra Mining Limited, is a South African‑based, and minerals, mining and processing company which services the metallurgical and industrial sectors. Petmin Limited has three key mining assets: (i) SamQuarz, the largest producer of silica in South Africa, in operation since 1955. Principal supplier to South Africa’s largest glass manufacturers. (ii) Springlake Colliery, the largest producer of anthracite in South Africa, in operation since 1977. Supplies domestic and export ferrometallurgical and heating market. (iii) Somkhele, a high quality anthracite deposit scheduled for production in January 2007. Expected to supply domestic and export ferrometallurgical markets and domestic ferrochrome and titanium smelting industry. Petmin’s strategy is to acquire underperforming, cash producing / near-production mining assets around the world and optimise their performance, and is admitting to AIM in order to provide a platform for international expansion.
