I have absolutely no knowledge of Terry Matthews, but if what you say is correct then that does not appear to be particularly good news for exisiting shareholders. If, as looks likely, the company needs to raise additional funds it is likely to be via a placing or a rights issue. Either is likely to be at a material discount to the prevailing share price which will result in dilution to those shareholders that don't participate. So, yes, Terry Matthews might be prepared to prevent the company failing, but it may well still prove costly to existing shareholders.
