I think the RNS is important as it indicates to the market and other potential customers what a serious player Newmark and their JANUS product are in the security market.
There can be few companies with more exacting security requirements than British Aerospace.
The reason for the delay will almost certainly be that BAE have only just given their permission to publicise it; remember that most contracts in this market are never publicised due to client confidentiality/sensitivity agreements/considerations.
BAE's permission here will be very useful for Newmark as it now openly allows them to use this information in their sales and marketing of the product and in the context of the company's credibility/status in the wider security market.

If I were one to read between the lines, I would guess that BAE Systems are very pleased with JANUS, as they're not going to want their name associated with usage of anything other than the very best in class security products.
