Re: this 5,000 carats, which seems to have popped up at the meeting having never been mentioned before, the proposed output of the mine when in full production is 10,000 ct per month. So at full whack, 5,000 ct would take about 2 weeks. But we know the plant is not operating at full stretch, nor has it always been operating a full shift due to rain, so Cross's "couple of weeks" could be just a tad optimistic.
The 5,000 ct does in fact intrigue me. All the documentation regarding the initial exploration phase mentions no target - it simply says that a confirmatory exploration programme will be carried out over 2-3 months, after which a licence application can be made and production will begin.
