no you are not daft. the problem is finding the right investments. also nms has a maturing portfolio and they appear to want this to increase the nav by buying back the shares cheaply. if they say that they will only buy back the shares at 10% below nav then if say all of the 20% of shares were bought it would increase this years nav slightly if no companies were sold. however the following year with 20% shares less any companies sold would have a far greater impact on the nav. as shares are meant to be a long term investment tnen it is not a bad strategy. also as they invest in startups then the initial funding isnt huge anyway. over a 12 month period we should see another nice rise in nav as the companies mature and the buybacks continue. and from todays discounted price and with less shares about a 20% rise would not be impossible. that is why i took the decision to buy. a quick profit or a long term hold. i just have to wait now.
