Was pleased to see the upturn on PTI - guessed you were still holding.
So far as ITH is concerned I think they have a very good potential moneyspinner
in their traffic flow statistics system (developed originally by an Israeli company - bought by ITH). They already achieved one sale to a US State - so theoretically a potential for up to 50 total US sales - but even a 50 percent takeup would be very fruitful!
So far as in-car telematics/navigation sytems are concerned that is a more complicated picture. They have achieved some successes already but there is strong competition from TFC and TomTom (though I know nothing about the latter).
I get the feeling that TFC somehow missed a window of opportunity and that is reflected in the decline of its sp. I got out XMAS 03 at 70p - and have not yet bought again.
Back to medicals for moment - I am still stuck with PRO - and they are stuck in a rut at the moment. They have commenced shipments of the new In2It machines
to the US - and that is a vast potential market for them if they can get their production management and sales development organised. It has recently been calculated that 39% of all females born last year in USA will develop diabetes.
Simple diagnostic machines that are affordable and operable by GPs and many US patients (rather than only by using expensive and time-consuming hospital- based equipment) should prove to be very popular. So I guess that PRO will either succeed with it themselves - or will be taken over by someone like
Roche who manufacture machines measuring instantaneous glood glucose levels
(like the one I use every day) but which cannot measure long-term properties.
