Hitachi and Mitsubishi plunging hundreds of billions of yen into a joint venture whose mission statement is :

"In particular, Renesas Technology aims to establish leading positions in the mobile, network, automotive, and digital home electronics fields. The overriding goal is to become a reputable source of intelligent chip solutions for customers worldwide in order to make an affluent and ubiquitous society."

Renesas will "make and sell analogue devices, flash memory, discrete devices, systems on a chip, and microcontrollers".

As a major licensee and a stated aim of producing systems on chip, etc for IMG's quoted target markets it doesn't take Rob Evans or Dave Sweeney to make the connection that IMG will be inside a large pile of chips coming out of this venture.

I reckon we're all going to be rich one day !
