As a US company, google won't touch online gaming until it's declared legal by the US authorities and that is unlikely for a while. Paypal were pressured to give it up (as the US credit card companies currently are), no US investment bank has had anything to do with the flotation of Partypoker, empire or 888 beause of their dealings in the US. That's why NLR and FPA were originally based in Canada before NLR moved to the Isle of Man.
Also, NLR's advantage is in their instacash product. Google would have to replicate banking systems and bad debt management. I'd think they're far more likely to link up with a US bank and take on paypal, leaving online gambling well alone.
